It was a busy week in Grade 1, full of December fun!
Students have been busy practicing their Christmas song, and are excited to perform it during the Christmas Concerts next week! We have a very enthusiastic bunch of singers in 1H. They even won Music Class of the Month for Division 1. We celebrated by singing some of our favourite songs, including 'Let it Go' from Frozen.
We have been busy building our model of Willow Park School, and creating a Winter Wonderland. Students love to build together using blocks and some of the materials that parents have donated. This week we read 'Three Little Pigs' and students re-told the story using bricks, sticks, and hay. We learned all about the 'short i' vowel sound at the beginning, middle, and end of words. In the midst of Christmas Concert practices, performances, and festive fun in the week to come, we will also be focusing on the 'short o' vowel sound.
