Thank you to everyone who participated in Pink Shirt Day to take a stand against bullying! We spent a lot of time discussing kindness this week. The students signed a kindness agreement that states 'before I speak I will think and be smart, it is hard to fix a wrinkled heart.'  This 'contract' will remain on display in the classroom for the rest of the year as a remind to use kind and helpful words with one another.

March Calendars and Newsletters went home on Friday. Please let me know if you are missing a copy! The March Calendar has also been posted on the Calendars tab of this blog.

  • Swimming lessons are on Tuesday
  • Early Dismissal is this Wednesday, pick up is 2:15
  • Pizza by the slice is on Thursday: $2.00/slice
  • There is no school on Friday
  • Due to Early Dismissal and the short week, a new set of sight words will be sent home next week rather than this week

Information Update

Student Led Conferences

Thank you to everyone who made it out last night! The students were so excited to have the chance to show you what they have been working on. It was great for me to step back and watch them take responsibility and lead the way.

Baba's Own Fundraiser
The Grade 6 classes are holding a fundraiser for an end of the year trip. If you are interested in ordering perogies, cabbage rolls, nalysnyky, or perishky from the Grade 6 Baba's Own Fundraiser, orders can be sent to school with your child. All orders and payments must be in by February 29th, and orders will be delivered before Easter break.

Here is a link to the order form to see what delicious foods are offered:

Family Paint Night
Next Wednesday, February 24th, there will be a Family Paint Night in the WPS Gym from 6:30-7:30. Families are welcome to attend and create a picture to bring home!

Food Bank Donations Needed
This Thursday, February 25th, students will be working together to build a structure out of boxed goods for the food bank. Please send a boxed, non-perishable item (noodles, granola bars, kleenex, etc.) for your child to contribute to our structure!

Sight words were not sent home today, the students earned a SUPER recess this morning which cut into some of our sight word time. We will be ready for a new set of sight words to be sent home on Monday!

Swimming Lessons
Swimming lessons are taking place again on Tuesday! Please make sure to send swimming gear and a snack that is suitable to 'trek' to the LRC with them.
